CRYPTIC NANCY

Yesterday we said goodbye to double D. I got a little burnt at the beach. I passed Honours in Architecture. My sister arrives on Thursday. I'm getting a little hungry now and would quite like a Le Pain Quotidien fruit+granola parfait. Unfortunately though, I don't live in London. Next year I'm moving to Sweden and then Switzerland. Danny suggested I move in with him, that could be cool. I have this weird scar on my right hand from when my bunny's evil lover-bunny bit me. I also have a birthmark on my belly, and another scar above that from when I caught shingles in Malawi.

HAMMERHEAD SHARKS AND PUMPKIN PIE

Stay away
I said
Stay on your side
I said
Wait and don't move
Just wait
I said
but no
There's never much point
There's only
this
and that.

SNAKEY

Lies, manipulation and self-centred bullshit be gone!

KIFF

Honours in architecture done, dusted, delivered. Brain calm, mood happy.

ZURICH TIREDNESS

I found this now too. A paint I hadn't posted yet from a while ago. I like it! I like that it looks incomplete.

And, on further inspection, I found a draft post which this pic was meant to accompany: "I've just arrived in Zurich, after 2 -3 hours sleep. (I fell asleep on the plane and woke up to some creepy man watching me which put me off for the rest of the journey). Besides feeling like my eyes are going to shut any minute, THIS IS AMAZING - I'M IN ZURICH!"

GOOGLEY

I went for a walk just now, hoping I'd clear my crazy thoughts and come up with a research proposal that makes sense. My proposal is as messy and unclear as the image below. I'm interested in so much, everything and nothing. On Friday, though, I must hand in something (anything).

FOREVER EVER

Just wrote my third last final honours exam. And all I'm filled with is a feeling that if I stick with this profession - i.e. complete masters like I'm "supposed to" - I'll be unhappy for the rest of my life. Maybe it's just today though.

MAN IN A GREEN POLAR NECK

He's probably a little crazy, but not too crazy, just crazy enough. His hair is nuts though and it's blowing in the wind (as always). It's one of those moments, where he's thinking about something but also nothing at all. "hmmmmf", he says out loud.

BLOGS

When you blog there is this weird tension between what you say and what you don't say. Successful bloggers probably tell "all", exposing their inner secrets, daily thoughts and just about anything else that'll generate an intrigued set of followers. If you want to know anything about me, though, my words aren't going to explain much. My scribbles probably won't help much either, but to me they say the world. Each post, each doodle, each drawing reminds me of a specific moment, feeling, emotion. I suppose I use my blog as a backup of memories and I like that.

p.s. I went to Zurich in June/July. I felt free, maybe too free at times, giving away my heart and spirit. Working was incredible. The most incredible team of people.

TRENDZZZZ

I'm not going to bore you with an update about my life. My latest paint explains it all (or at least it explains today, and today has been a good day). [Patrick will tell me that I shouldn't have included a comma before the 'and' but I'm putting it there anyways]

SKYPE

Excited to draw ideas!

VALENTINES

Ethiopian food. A spontaneous rush to buy ice cream. A 15 minute Woolworths shop. A walk in the dark. And a good giggle. Love you.

BLUEGREY

I've been working working working on an online portfolio/website. It's so nearly done!

EYES AND A MOUTH

It's amazing how much character is added to an inanimate object (or in this case, an MS Paint) with just two eyes and a mouth. Today's a bit gloomy in Cape Town. I think I might be getting a cold.

BIRD COLUMNS

Piet showed me this book filled with beautiful hand drawn architectural drawings from the days before modernism. No architect can draw like that anymore but, I decided to try. With obvious inadequacies. I've entitled the work 'Bird Columns in Lime Green Room'.  And to be honest, I think they could look awesome in real life - skwonky sides and all. In other news, my boyfriend has his first crush on another girl. Maybe I need to find a crush now too, as a 'counter defence'. I'm picturing a mini gameboy game called 'Attack of the Counter Crushes'. It'll be fun to draw that too sometime.
